Broadway & Friends Mornings

Broadway & Friends in the Morning has become a staple of early mornings across the Knoxville area on 96.7 Merle, bringing down-home country personality, laughs, and community energy to listeners from Clinton to Sevierville and beyond. Anchored by radio veteran Jerry Broadway, along with the quick-witted Mitch “Pancake” English and seasoned communicator T. Wall, the show sets the tone for your day with a mix of fun conversation and great country music.

Jerry Broadway’s journey from a small Mississippi start to a voice familiar to East Tennessee mornings gives the show a heartland feel that resonates with Knoxville listeners. Whether he’s tossing out a light-hearted quip about the Tennessee Vols’ latest game or sharing a story about a recent outing to Turkey Creek for breakfast, Broadway connects with listeners in a way that feels like catching up with old friends.

Mitch English, known affectionately as “Pancake,” brings a unique blend of humor and relatable commentary. Fans in Maryville and Oak Ridge might hear him riff on weekend plans — from tailgating before a Vols game in the fall to spontaneous drives up to Gatlinburg for a quick getaway with friends. His knack for making everyday topics entertaining helps keep listeners smiling during the morning commute.

Wall adds another layer of local flair, having strong ties to the Knoxville radio scene. His insights often reflect the pulse of the region, whether it’s local festivals, community events in Farragut, or simply the best barbecue spots in Alcoa that everyone’s been talking about. T. Wall’s long history on air in East Tennessee gives the show a familiarity that listeners appreciate.

Beyond the personalities, Broadway & Friends in the Morning celebrates the places and people that make East Tennessee special. From morning chatter about Vols victories to shout-outs from listeners in Lenoir City, the show captures the local pride of its audience. It’s community-focused radio with a country soul — the perfect companion for your mornings on 96.7 Merle in the heart of Tennessee.

Broadway & Friends has been nominated multiple times for the CMA and AMC Radio Personalities Of The Year! And they’ve won both the CMA and ACM awards, but Broadway will tell you those awards are about the 96.7 Merle listeners. They are proud to wake you up every morning on 96.7 Merle.
